Title: Systems Engineer/Admin
We are recruiting for an award winning Security Company located in Santa Clara. They are an established company currently experiencing rapid growth; recruiting talented and motivated individuals that want flexibility and growth opportunity.
The Systems Engineer/Admin will join the client's QA and Software Engineering team and provide security, virtualization, networking and server administration. This role will also provide solutions to support DevOps functions such as writing automation specs, procedures and tools in order to streamline and automate operations.
Develop and continuously implement improvements of the IT infrastructure
Install and support the engineering lab framework
Install and maintain the IT infrastructure as well as security updates
Debug and troubleshoot issues in Development, QA and Production
Implement strategies and plans to increase service reliability
Desired Skills and Experience:
Deep and thorough understanding of Linux and Windows environments
Experience maintaining firewalls, VPNs (FireEye, CheckPoint, Palo Alto Networks)
Knowledge of configuration management and automation
Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization (vShield Endpoint, VMWare ESXi, vSphere Replication, vSphere Hypervisor)
Knowledge of network protocols
Ability to manage Windows servers, Mac OS and Linux
Strong documentation skills
Desired Background and Training:
5+ years work experience as a Systems Administrator supporting engineering infrastructure or relevant hands-on work
Ability to work well within a team environment
Strong customer service skills
Desire to learn new technologies
Good attention to detail
Bachelors' degree in computer science, IT or equivalent experience
