Job Description:

SUMMARY: Plans and directs activities related with quality development, quality assurance, and maintains working relationships while managing the entire direct supply chain. Organizational goals focused on supplier performance as it relates to quality standards, customer satisfaction, and operating systems compliance by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supplier PPAP implementation and approval.Manage all supplier related CQI requirements.Manage monthly supplier performance and report out monthly to management, quarterly to the entire supply chain.Perform all requested new supplier assessments and report back to management.Support the process for supplier selection and risk assessment.Perform supplier process audits to a planned frequency, also reactionary when required.Manage supply chain scorecard process and communicate values to the entire supply chain.Lead all supplier improvement activities.Lead all supplier related charges related to supplier quality issues. Support accounting department to verify activity and validate effectiveness.Lead all supplier related improvement plans.Investigating supplier concerns along with external customer concerns that are supplier driven, implementing corrective action and validating the root cause as needed for all supplier related issues.Maintain an 8D log and continuous improvement system to resolve supplier issues to prevent recurrence.Travel to suppliers and or customers when required for problem solving and containment activities, supplier improvement, etc.Manage all 3rd party sorting activities from supplier related issues affecting plant operations. OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working knowledge of GD&T with the ability to interpret dimensional layouts and evaluation of production parts, samples, and prototypes as required by the quality system.Experience with AIAG core tools, PPAP, APQP, MSA & SPC.Strong corrective action skills, able to lead a cross functional team and follow the issue to closure using 8D problem solving tools.Proactively investigate ways to improve the supply chain.Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility as it relates to all supplier related issues.Work with suppliers to assure the proper usage of measurement instruments on their production floor is in place.Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.To perform other related duties as assigned.Working safely as a condition of employment.Other duties may be assigned.Metal stamping and/or weld assembly exposure a plus.
