Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of the organization.
  • Perform regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, as well as participating in strategic development based on quality control plans.
  • Actively manage the supply chain, serve as the liaison for suppliers, suggest structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with Quality Managers and other Engineers in a team environment.
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs and KPI's.
  • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions.
  • Report supplier performance and quality to management.
  • Track and qualify or disqualify suppliers according to organization's standards.
  • Aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials.
  • Maintain successful relationships with quality, engineering, and manufacturing departments.
  • Drive zero defect mentality within the supply base.
Supplier Quality Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • ASQC certification
  • Five plus years quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess an understanding of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA). 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma Concepts. 
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, statistical analysis, organizational and communication skills.
