Coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of the organization.
Perform regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, as well as participating in strategic development based on quality control plans.
Actively manage the supply chain, serve as the liaison for suppliers, suggest structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with Quality Managers and other Engineers in a team environment.
Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported
Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs and KPI's.
Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization and continuous improvement efforts.
Identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions.
Report supplier performance and quality to management.
Track and qualify or disqualify suppliers according to organization's standards.
Aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials.
Maintain successful relationships with quality, engineering, and manufacturing departments.
Drive zero defect mentality within the supply base.
Supplier Quality Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Five plus years quality experience in a manufacturing environment
Possess an understanding of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
Knowledge of Six Sigma Concepts.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, statistical analysis, organizational and communication skills.
