Job Description

We are a leader in North America's construction segment specializing in Tower Cranes to support major building projects. We are based in Northern Virginia where we are seeking a full-time Engineer to strengthen our team.

General Job Requirements:

The Engineer that fulfills this position will be the in-house resource for all technical challenges and support associated with marketing, bidding, coordination, and design of tower crane assemblies in a variety of settings and situations. The individual will obtain on-the-job practical training relative to industry-specific calculations necessary to execute this position. More critical than the particular discipline of collegiate engineering study is the candidate's ability to problem-solve, work independently, evaluate varying structural conditions efficiently and effectively, and to demonstrate a common-sense approach to design. A critical aspect of this position is to seal, as a Professional Engineer, crane foundation and structural assembly/connection designs associated with in-house tower crane applications in multiple states.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET Accredited University

  • Ability to obtain PE License in Structural Engineering within 6 months

  • Performed Structural Engineering work as an EIT for not less than 3 years

  • Possess a sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to independently develop bid and construction documents

  • Capacity to solve technical problems with innovative and economical solutions

  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in current release of AutoCAD

  • Highly motivated, independently productive, and willing to take on new challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE License in Structural Engineering

  • If candidate is an EIT, not less than 3 years of structural engineering experience including

    • Foundation design and incorporation of geotechnical report

    • Evaluating structural reactions to multi-story buildings

    • Problem-solving non-prototypical building connections

    • Performing accident evaluation and repair recommendations

  • NCEES Record for efficient reciprocity in numerous states
