Sr. Network Engineer - Dallas Perm PositionLocation: Dallas No Third Party or Corp-to-Corp for this Opportunity!Summary of Responsibilities:Responsible for keeping the site operational; provides technical support and maintenance for all Network servers and systems for all company sites. This position is an 'on-call' position in an environment that operates on a 247 basis (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). The incumbent will be expected to be available to work extended hours to accomplish critical tasks essential to the continuance of uninterrupted operations of the department.Essential Functions:Provides the Second/Third level of support for all facets of IT; network, VoIP, wirelessPerforms Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Maintenance to insure system uptime and to be pro-active in finding potential problems.Identifies incidents and resolutions for site issues. Escalates to outside vendor when applicable. Works closely with the vendor throughout all incidents or problem tickets.Responsible for adds, moves and changes of all users at the site and provide documentation for network work completed.Participates in Change Implementation Management and submits change control documentation in accordance with company standardsAccountable for IT asset management, inventory and disposal in accordance with Company standards.Troubleshoots Network hardware and solutions including but not limited to Cisco Switches, VPN's, ASA Firewalls, and F5 load balancers.Serves as the primary IT point of contact for the Site Director relative to site IT need, plans, issues, etc.Support/Maintenance:Provides 2nd & 3rd level support for and maintain all infrastructure, participating in an on-call schedule that includes business and after hours' support.Completes tickets within service level agreements, troubleshoot any problems on a timely basis.Works closely with other IT staff to develop and support systems and applications.Ensures that all relevant systems are upgraded and patched when advisable.Documents all relevant installation, maintenance and support work in tracking system.Design, Installation, and DocumentationPerforms ongoing research to ensure that Company takes advantage of any significant technological advances, related to network infrastructure and services, that is relevant to Company's business.Ensures that Company's systems environment is secure and that all industry and regulatory best practice steps have been taken to protect Company, its hardware, software and data from unauthorized access and use.Designs, documents, configures, and installs new technology into Company environment.24x7x365 availability to support end users on an as needed basis Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Certification/Registration: prefer Cisco CCNA or CCNPSeven (7) + years supporting and maintaining Cisco hardware; Layer3 switches, Nexus, 4500's.Seven (7) + years TCP/IP networking experience, support of internet services and applications. Strong understanding of network routing protocols EIGRP, and BGP.The ability to design and support WAN/LAN infrastructure supporting VoIPStrong analytical and diagnostic skills Telephony issues on VoIP, MPLS, QoS.In depth knowledge of TCP/IPBroad general knowledge of desktop PC hardware, applications and peripherals. Knowledge: Work requires a strong understanding of telephony Specifically, ISDN, analog, PRI, T-1, E1, etc.Project management, must be self-driven, organized and motivated to complete project work, as an individual member of a cohesive team.Excellent Problem solving/diagnostic skills Cisco Nexus, Cisco switches, VPN, ASA Firewalls, WAN, LAN, and F5 Load Balancer.Strong oral and written communications.Ability to maintain confidentiality.
