Note: This position can be a Salary Grade E04 (Sr Electrical Engineer II) or E05 (Principal Electrical Engineer) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Directorate & Center Description: The mission of the System Test Directorate is to develop, integrate and execute test strategies and solutions to guarantee product performance, producibility, and warfighter suitability through collaboration across Raytheon Missile Systems. Systems Test opportunities include: Working with state-of-the-art and emerging technologies. Working with customers in a teaming environment. Hands-on testing on all RMS products. Domestic and international travel. Innovative rapid prototyping. Supporting live-fire testing of our products. Designing and developing software for simulation and test equipment environment Designing and developing methods and equipment to effectively test systems. The Test Systems Solutions Center (TSSC) applies an interdisciplinary approach to provide total test solutions that ensure the quality of all missile products. TSSC uses common platforms and processes to design/develop production, depot and engineering test stations. Job Description: Selected individual will be a key contributor to the design, development and integration of special test equipment to be used for engineering and manufacturing. Apply advanced technical principles to solve unusually complex electronic interface problems and design complex electronic circuitry / software associated with test equipment used in the development and production of various missile products. The candidate must have the ability to provide technical leadership in a multidiscipline team environment. Individual will be expected to provide solutions for complex problems that are highly innovative and ingenious. Individual will also lead and participate in design reviews, insuring good technical solutions utilizing the application of advanced technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Translate customer requirements to hardware implementations with a willingness to utilize existing designs as a starting point to interface with new Units Under Test (UUTs) and UUT configurations. The qualified candidate will also be expected to conform to a process driven environment following procedures and practices established to guide an engineer through the different phases of test equipment implementation including design, fabrication, documentation, and support. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Required Skills: A minimum of six (6) years engineering design work with emphasis in RF propagation and antenna characterization U.S. Citizenship is required Experience with test and measurement of RF signals (Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer) RF component/system integration RF chain analysis Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Desired Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers Familiar with basic lab test equipment, CAD, PSpice, Timing Designer and Mentor Graphics design tools Knowledge of a variety of RF architectures and components RF parts specification Schematic generation Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse environment Self-starter and able to manage workload to meet assigned deadlines Excellent technical writing and formal presentation experience Experience with Test Equipment development Bid and proposal experience Project management training Required Education (including Major): B.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE preferred) This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
