The Role The Team: We are a group of passionate Software Engineers that have built the largest private Medicare exchange in the country. We have a focus on continuous improvement that extends to both the software we write and the culture we promote. We build a platform to provide the best possible support to our customers shopping for insurance, where our insurance carriers can be confident their products are represented accurately and unbiased. Job Responsibilities: We are looking for a Software Engineer Team Lead to join our team. You should value expertise and a passion for the craft of Software Engineering. You should be able to recognize and stay up to date on current techniques and tools, but also be prudent knowing what is and isn't a good fit.Build software primarily using C# on .NET 4.6, as well as HTML5, JavaScript, CSSGain the skills necessary to be a full-stack engineer if not already possessedHelp improve the quality of software by writing unit tests, and performing code reviewsWork and communicate effectively in a team environmentMentor others on the team, but open to others' ideasLead the team to successfully deliver on their initiatives The Requirements: We're looking for individuals who love building software. You should have experience, but always willing to learn new things. You should be picky about the type of environment you want to work in because that matters just as much as the pay you would receive. You will also meet most of the following requirements:5+ years of software development experienceExperience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and C#Experience with ES6/ES2015, ReactJS, or AngularJS is a plusConsider testing an important discipline while writing softwareAccept ownership of your work and the overall projectGood at communicating ideas as well as hearing othersSolid experience with OOP and approaches to software designExperience with leading others on a small or large software development teamAbility and willingness to address business and interpersonal aspects of software engineeringMust be authorized to work in the United States without requiring Visa sponsorship The Environment: We believe in a collaborative work environment and a culture that thrives on learning new things.
