The Software Engineer in Student Information Systems will participate in and/or guide the development and support of administrative and educational/academic computing initiatives, including the Student Information System (SIS). The Software Engineer is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and support of centrally-managed systems which support the academic mission of the university.

Bachelor's degree required. Additional experience may be substituted for education. Five years of related work experience with computer systems and applications. Additional education may substitute for experience.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA's):
.Report development experience with SQL Reporting Service.
.Experience with student information systems or university administrative systems is highly desirable.
.Experience with implementing and customizing/extending a vendor-provided solution.
.Experience with Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, or other web technologies is a plus.
.Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills.
.Ability to work on multiple priorities effectively.
.Ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
.Ability to execute assigned project tasks within established schedule.
