Job Description The Data Persistence & Messaging team is responsible for providing robust, scalable services and solutions to meet the diverse persistence, caching, and messaging needs of the business. The team is responsible for the architecture, development, and operational needs related to these services. We currently work with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, MySQL, and Cassandra, and operate on three platforms: Bare Metal, OpenStack, and VMware. As a Senior Software Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for end-to-end DevOps ownership of one or more data services. While you will design and implement software systems that include highly available services, guest agents, and smart client libraries related to SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging, you will also be responsible for deploying and operating the services, including automating their deployment, building images for Docker and VMs, monitoring, alerting, and logging, etc. Some of our projects include evolving our message infrastructure comprising RabbitMQ and Kafka to provide high scalability and availability, providing Redis as a robust caching solution, setting up and scaling Cassandra for some of our persistence use cases, and last but not least, building a Database as a Service (DBaaS) for API-based provisioning and operations of data services. Joining this team will allow you to develop deep technical strengths in building and operating core data services in the cloud and hone your engineering skills to take on the most difficult of distributed systems problems.
