Chartis is currently seeking a Senior RHEV Engineer.
The Sr. RHEV Engineer position will provide Architecture, Engineering, and Tier 3 support of Red Hat Virtualization environment and other supported infrastructure components supported by the Enterprise Infrastructure, Virtualization and Automation Team. In addition, candidate will perform the following:
Provide Federal Client with engineering support to include planning, configuration and implementation of the RHEV environment.
This position will lead and assist training activities for support teams.
Assist in the engineering and deployment efforts of future infrastructure initiatives, migrations and maintenance activities.
Assist with system documentation; update documentation to reflect server solution requirements, concept of operations, and operational procedures.
Work with Sr. Engineers on migration activities
Assist with Physical-2-Virtual for both Windows and Linux servers.
Assist in trend-analysis data gathering and reporting.
Assist in benchmarking analysis and in compiling appropriate reports.
Translate complex concepts and solutions into multiple types of documents (requirements, compliance, SOPs, test results, audits, etc.)
Generate technical schematics
Citizenship and clearance: US citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position. All applicants will be required to submit a background investigation application prior to beginning work and must be capable of passing a Federal background investigation similar to a Public Trust clearance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
3-5 years of engineering experience with RHEV
Military, Bachelors or Masters Degree, preferably in Computer Science or equivalent combination of training and experience.
7-10 years of experience providing system administration on Linux and/or Windows systems
Solid understanding and engineering experience with RHEV and RHEL, VMware, vSphere
Strong interpersonal skills and user-friendly written and verbal communications
Experience working independently and in a collaborative development team environment
Experience in networking, storage and Virtualization technologies
Able to organize projects including infrastructure upgrades
Evaluating, recommending and implementing new technologies
RHCVA or RHCE certification
Diverse technology experience (across operating systems and application platforms)
Strong understanding of Cloud computing
Strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Satellite, IDM and CloudForms
Understanding of access technologies such as LDAP and Kerberos
Experience using KVM or other Linux based virtualization tools
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of backup and recovery systems
Experience developing and managing Automation Tools
Strong scripting skills for automation of routine tasks
Familiarity of various Open Source technologies such as Docker & Hadoop.
