The Network Engineer applies complex design principles and methodology to ensure cost effective and optimal use of resources and technology without jeopardizing network integrity. They will be responsible for technical expertise, strategic planning, and recommendations to management for new technologies and network applications in response to business needs. They perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. Will require on-call availability and may require working during non-business hours and on weekends. This is a fast paced and exciting position in a growing company. Some travel will be required. Responsibilities include: Monitoring and maintaining network implementations for multi-site enterprise. Node management, maintenance, and troubleshooting efforts for projects critical to the business. Maintaining and administering network standards, documentation, and remediation. Qualifications: Must have competency in routing, switching, firewall, and VPNs Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering or related field preferred. Four (4) or more years of experience in network engineering, architecture or systems engineering. Experience working with networking, telecommunications, and inter-networking protocols and standards. Experience working with designing redundant, self-healing network solutions. PowerShell and Active Directory experience is desired. Industry/ Protocol Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the expertise behind the Internet and its workings. (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email routing, etc.). Configuration and setup Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Security appliances. VOIP solutions and troubleshooting. Expert understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, remote access, SSLVP, access-control lists, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
