Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Geologist/Hyrogeologist for its San Bernardino, CA office location.

Job Responsibilities:

Re sponsibilities include remedial investigation, remedial system design, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, groundwater monitoring plans and reports, cost estimating, and technical writing.

Project management responsibilities include managing subcontracts, project cost and project schedule. Other responsibilities include supervision of more junior staff and assisting in business development/marketing efforts as part of a team.

Performs a range of tasks, requiring utilization of advanced scientific, geologic, and engineering analytical techniques including: interpretation of complex hydrogeologic settings impacted by emerging contaminants and development of cost effective remedial strategies.

Required/Preferred Experience:

BS degree in environmental/civil engineering, geology, or hydrogeology is required. Advanced degree is preferred.

Professional registration, i.e. Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) in California is preferred. PMP Certification a plus.

10 years of professional, environmental consulting experience is required. Full life-cycle, environmental/remediation project experience is required.

Experience with geologic, engineering, scientific, or general environmental projects and data interpretation including the development of conceptual site models (CSMs) based on existing data is required. Experience should include both the characterization and remediation of hazardous waste sites with experience at Department of Defense (DoD) sites a plus.

Experience in the design and implementation of pilot tests, treatability studies, and groundwater remedial systems is desired. Field experience should include subsurface soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and well installation for hazardous waste site characterization, aquifer testing, remedial system installation, and system O&M.

Excellent writing and communication skills required. The candidate should be able to manipulate environmental monitoring data including, but not limited to, applying correction factors, calculating units, conversions, conducting statistical analysis, and calculating averages. Must be computer literate and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Project and environmental software. GIS experience is a plus.

Able to resolve conflicts and provide solutions in a professional manner.

Some local travel and field work required.

Must be able to pass a physical exam by a physician to qualify to wear an air purifying respirator in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.134 and comply with respiratory protection programs and to pass a physical exam by a physician to perform hazardous waste site operations in compliance with medical monitoring sections of 29 CFR 1910.120
