AbleVets, LLC is a fast growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs' Enterprise Cloud Services Broker (ECSB) contract. This position is located in our Chantilly, VA office and cloud involve occasional travel to the customer offices in Washington, DC.Essential Functions and Job ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Cloud Engineer is intimately familiar with cloud market technologies. He/She is responsible for applying evolving cloud technologies, techniques and frameworks to create and deliver solutions for clients. Responsible for designing and implementing solutions and offerings and moving clients from legacy environment to cloud tools and processes. Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements and define problems and develop plans and requirements for complex systems related to systems architecture, networking and telecommunications. Perform functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships. Identify skills and resources required for tasks. Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills:. Provide Cloud support for the Enterprise Cloud Services Broker (ECSB) contract. Establish and review documentation for policy and procedures. Research the latest Cloud Information Technology trends and provide recommendations to incorporate into program implementation. Knowledge of IP Networking, VPN's, DNS, Application Delivery Controller, and firewalling.. Support the engineering requirements of Legacy/On-Prem enterprise applications and develop Cloud migration solutions. Perform technical diagramming, configuration, scripting, testing, and integration activities as required for successful migration. Organize, develop, and present briefings, written summaries, and written reports incorporating narrative, tabular and/or graphic elements. Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures; contribute to and maintain system standards, policies, and procedures.. Follow best practices to adhere to enterprise architecture. Implement IT security solutions and assure successful implementation. Apply knowledge of security principles, policy, and regulations to daily tasking. Research policies, procedures, standards, and guidance, and apply needed changes under specific conditions for the protection of information and information systems Minimum Requirements: . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. 10+ years' experience in IT with a broad range of exposure to all aspects of business planning, systems analysis, and application development. Candidates must be US citizens and will be required to undergo a background investigation.. Knowledge of Cloud-enabling product landscape (new vendors/technologies). In depth knowledge of public cloud providers, such Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Cloud Foundry or other major vendors of public and Gov cloud. Demonstrated competency in project management in a cross-functional environment with the proven ability to lead technical teams is required. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with abilities in relationship management. Working knowledge of architectural frameworks and methodologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding. Confidence and leadership as a member of project teams in working with business users in a cross-functional environment. Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes (secure software development (Application Security), data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments. Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc.). Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services. Experience working with cloud security and governance tools, cloud access security brokers (CASBs), and server virtualization technologies. Experience with enterprise applications (architecture, development, support, and troubleshooting) Desired Qualifications;
