Job Description

Their flagship software provides a proven, single integrated source of high quality market and reference data delivered to exacting standards on quality, timeliness and transparency.

Our client is looking for a Solutions Consultant to assist the sales and account management teams throughout the entire sales process by understanding the customer's/prospect's business and technical requirements, collaborating on the sales strategy, delivering strong solution presentations, and managing interdepartmental relationships within our client's office to ensure the ultimate success of the customer. Strong teamwork and collaboration with product management and professional services is required to be effective in this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and execute Solution Consulting/Sales Methodology
  • Act as subject matter expert on employer's solutions during sales process
  • Uncover, elevate, quantify and confirm customers' critical business issues (CBIs)
  • Provide customized technical presentations that illustrate employer's solutions, architectural and technology benefits that apply to customers' CBIs
  • Advise and consult with prospects on our client's solutions architectures, infrastructure planning and integration methodologies in order to facilitate the sales process
  • Gather all pertinent customer requirements necessary to formulate an infrastructure plan for customers' deployment of our client's solutions
  • Assist existing clients with infrastructure planning as it relates to product upgrades or large business expansion, including help with understanding how new features, architectural changes and expanded platform support can be leveraged for their future operations and infrastructure
  • Support the development and expansion of demo environments and content to facilitate the Solutions Consulting team's ability to demo employer's solutions on a global scale
  • Effectively demonstrate and communicate the differentiating value of our client's solutions
  • Act as a consultant on product integration strategy with customer's internal applications and 3rd party applications and technologies
  • Participate in demand creation events (seminars, trade shows, conferences, etc.)
  • Feed knowledge gained from customers back to the business management and product management groups, particularly in relation to our client's solution architecture roadmap
  • Proactive about maintaining high level of product/solution knowledge, as well as applicable technology changes
  • Create, modify and deliver high quality documentation of recommended solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with the completion of RFPs, including the development of a repository to maintain typical responses for most common questions
  • 20%-35% travel is expected in this position depending on sales coverage model

Qualifications Requirements

  • 4-5 years overall experience in one or more of the following areas: EDM and market data, straight through processing applications, Financial Technology Sales
  • Knowledgeable with software architecture, hardware specifications, virtualization configurations, network topography, disaster recovery applications, operating systems, cloud-based infrastructure and web applications
  • Skilled with programming/database/integration technologies, languages and tools, including but not limited to F/E code, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, .NET/C#, Java, SOAP, XML, FIX (FIX, XML, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Tier 1 & 2 bank market data requirements, asset management operations as well as risk/regulatory requirements highly desired

  • Ability to understand prospect objections and/or product challenges and respond effectively to them. Confirm that the objection has been overcome.
  • Ability to control the event and maintain composure under pressure. Articulate, confident, and professional. Ability to present information in a professional, polished manner, with a logical flow of information and ability to be persuasive.
  • Functional Mastery
  • Strong understanding of the business process and workflows of employer's target markets. Strong technical experience with ability to relate technical advantages into business benefits.
  • Ability to recover and learn from mistakes, not afraid to fail.
  • Masters degree in finance and/or computer science a plus.
