Job Description:

MAJOR DUTIES: As a member of a highly motivated, multi-disciplined team, you will provide robotic programming and other professional, technical expertise necessary to support quality integration, assistance/start-up, and customer training associated with the company's products both on time and on budget, as well as meeting traditional customer service expectations. Additionally you will be a critical part of a project (on-site and off-site); with the ability to make technical decisions, discretionary and independent judgment decisions at any time necessary while maintaining all communication with the project manager. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Robot ProgrammerThe Robot Programmer will be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing robotic cells according to customer specifications. The individual, under the direction of the engineering manager, will evaluate customer requirements and write efficient and logical programs for a variety of applications using primarily Fanuc and Denso robots.Program robot paths for material handling using various gripper configurations in robot-manufacturer specific code.Develop program structure, implement offline programming, and configure robot I/O.Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.Perform field service of existing equipment.Develop and maintain good customer relations and provide technical support to the customer.Cooperation with other departments (Sales, Project management, Procurement, Manufacturing, as well as other divisions).Familiarity with Roboguide, AB HMI's, Siemens HMI's.Other duties as assigned. Skills/AbilitiesProgramming.Basic knowledge of high-level programming languages (Basic, C, Pascal...).Basic mechanical aptitude & understanding of dynamic mechanical systems.Basic understanding of automation systems (sensors, actuators...).Basic knowledge of engineering drawings & schematics (AutoCAD & 3D CAD knowledge a plus).Solid mathematical skills (specifically geometry and trigonometry).Solid understanding of controls, electronics and electrical equipment/systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Must be able to work with minimal supervision. GeneralAbility to troubleshoot, repair and modify existing designs/software complex problem solving skills: Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Judgment and decision making skills: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Active Learning skills: Understand the effect of new information on both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Very good communication skills to successfully interface with the customer. QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school offering specialized robotic training.Minimum 2-5 years automation/robotic experience, FANUC, DENSO preferred.Robotic assembly and/or vision experience a plus. General Skills:Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel.Must have good written and oral communication skills.Should be able to work with minimum supervision.Need to be able to multi-task.
