Job Description:

PURPOSE: Plans and conducts activities concerned with the Quality Assurance Electronic Testing and all related processes. This position will monitor the Repair Depot Technicians and others as required. DUTIES: Plans and conducts the Electronic analysis, inspection, design, test, validations, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component Monitor and assist Repair Department Technicians and others as required Performs Quality Engineer reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including supplier Quality Manuals and company Quality records Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes Documents data obtained during all Quality Assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures Communicates significant issues or developments identified during Quality Assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of Quality Assurance activities Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry Quality Assurance codes and standards Write Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, create Forms and Records as well as implementation of these items to support the Quality Management System Develops Quality Control Plans for Processes, Product, and Components Performs First Article Inspection for New Product Development Perform Internal and External Quality Management systems audits Peforms Process Capability Studies and implement improvements as needed Train others as required To serve as a proactive customer service and quality ambassador of the Econolite Group, Inc. in a positive, professional manner in a diligent effort to support our Brand Promise Specifying and develop testing methods, techniques, equipment and facilities to be used in any product of the company as assigned. This may also be as a result of analysis of product or process problems, utilizing statistics, computers, etc. Perform cabinet testing, testing of other products and troubleshooting as needed Perform necessary training for test/troubleshooting technicians Interface with customers on needed improvements for test techniques Able to travel to assist in development and implementation of test requirements at satellite facilities, customer locations, or outsourced companies Serves as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of The Econolite Group, Inc. by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner to support The Brand Promise Performs other duties as required and assigned QUALIFICATIONS: ASQ Black Belt Certified Must have 5+ years previous Traffic Industry Experience in cabinet testing and/or cabinet installation Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, with approximately 4-6 years experience in Quality Assurance related industry Problem Solving, Statistical Analysis and Process Audits Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, database management, MS Outlook, MS Dynamics NAV (preferred) Experience with MS SharePoint, Navision, and Master Controls a significant plus Good verbal and written communication skills Experience with ISO 9001 Able to read, analyze, and interpret common engineering documents, product manuals Able to effectively present information to Top Management and public groups Certified Quality Engineer from American Society for Quality strong desired Familiar with Total Quality Management Processess, Six Sigma Projects, Lean Manufacturing, continuous Improvement Programs, preferred Able to read and understand descriptions, communications, reports, tables, diagrams, directions, regulations, etc. Able to apply ideas, procedures, methods, formulas, principles, theories, etc., in job-related situations. Computer literate, statistics Able to break down information into its constituent parts and recognize the parts relationship to one another and how they are organized Ability to sit for long periods of time, occasional long periods of walking to and standing at test equipment, must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, and work at a desktop computer BUSINESS TRAVEL: As needed to project locations and company facilities across the US and Tecate, Mexico; expected to be 35% - 65% Have own vehicle for traveling Must have the ability to travel internationally DISCLAIMER The above statements are intended to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
