If this position is of interest to you or if you might know someone please contact John Wilson,The Tidewater Group Visit our site:tidewater.org Thank You Job Description JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Quality Engineer will work to improve the satisfaction of internal and external customers. As an integral part of the product value stream, the Quality Engineer facilitates identifying and meeting customer requirements as well as improving processes. The Quality Engineer will support the AS9100 quality management system in a metal processing production facility. Our Quality team helps maintain world class quality in a business that provides advanced materials to important and diverse industries including aviation, space, defense, energy and electronics. Using Quality and Lean Six Sigma tools, the Quality Engineer will guide improvements in a continually changing environment. This individual must be able to collect and present data, independently manage small projects, and participate in cross-function and area teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Safety Program including safety audits and leading department safety teams.Communicate and partner well with all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.Serve as the primary Quality leader for assigned Manufacturing areas. Develop and execute an annual Quality plan for each assigned area including training and internal audits. Serve as the subject matter expert about Quality issues for assigned Manufacturing teams.Develop and execute a site internal quality system audit program as part of the Quality Engineering team. Partner with Manufacturing teams to implement improvements. Help develop, audit and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for processes. Help manage and improve the AS9100 quality system. Gain an In-depth technical knowledge of the AS9100 quality standard. Also, help maintain Nadcap HT and Nadcap MTL programs. Support compliance audits.Support quality activities by customers including quality system audits and source inspection, as required.Use Quality, Lean and Six Sigma principles, tools and practices to optimize systems and processes. Lead Lean Six Sigma projects as either a Green or Black Belt. Support process control systems to ensure consistent product quality. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or materials discipline plus 3-5 years of experience in an engineering position, preferable with a quality emphasis.A minimum of 5 years quality experience is required in an engineering or materials position, and may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor Degree.Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100, quality systems. Experience in production quality a plus, especially materials and metallurgy.Only U.S. Citizens or Aliens who have a legal right to work in the United States are eligible for employment in the United States. If hired, can you present evidence of your US Citizenship or proof of your legal right to work in the United States?
