Job Description

Remedy Staff has an immediate Direct Hire opening for a Quality Engineer for a Plastics/Molding Manufacturer in Longmont.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for working in a multi-disciplinary team to improve quality metrics. This includes support of engineering and production needs to manage customer on-time delivery and quality requirements. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Inspection team, Metrology team and Quality Analyst to drive continual improvement in all areas of the company.

As a Quality Engineer, you will have the following job duties:

  • Review quality system metrics and drive improvement.
  • Ensure conformance to company standards and customer specifications.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to review daily scrap, investigate root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Review the quality criteria for each customer in order to provide guidance to operations and engineering.
  • Plan and execute quality improvement on specific part programs at the direction of the Quality Supervisor. This may include developing task-force teams to address issues.
  • Works with Quality Supervisor to issue, complete and/or follow up on CAPA forms. If needed, delivers results to customers.
  • Write and issue Quality Alerts to production staff in reaction to quality events. Provides support to achieve established work goals.
  • Assures inspection data is accurate and retained as necessary. Promotes a safe work environment and habits.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is desired. A degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is preferable.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and related industry standards is desired.
  • Knowledge and experience in high volume manufacturing quality controls, such as SPC.
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining work priorities for self and others. Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside the typically scheduled hours which may include weekends, holidays, vacation coverage, or other absences.
