Job Description:

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the ASME Certification and welding program for all US Fulton Companies including technical support and training to ensure compliance with the ASME Code in a manner that is consistent with the company values and operating philosophy. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Welding Program - In partnership with the Chief Engineer and Welding Quality Control Technician, develop, communicate and manage the welding program (code and non-code) within Fulton North America in compliance with the ASME and Fulton Quality programs. This includes the creation of acceptable weld standards and weld procedures and creation/administration of training programs/testing for Fulton welders. 2. Technical Support - Provide all Fulton employees, the on-site Authorized Inspector and Jurisdictional Inspectors with engineering and technical support as needed, such as - field approval considerations, material selection, design considerations, inspection requirements and weld methodology for the design and fabrication of Fulton products. 3. Code Compliance -Maintain/prepare calculations and required Code documentation for all boilers and pressure vessels built in the US in compliance with the current ASME Code Edition and other Jurisdictional requirements and participate in third party audits of the ASME Quality System. Represent the Chief Engineer on ASME, NB and other various code committees as needed. 4. Training - Creation/administration of training programs to ensure compliance with all procedures associated with Fulton's ASME QC Manual. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 4 year engineering degree, Mechanical, Chemical or 2 year welding engineering degree 2. Welding and fabrication training and/or experience. 3. Proficient in creating documents, spreadsheets and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Critical Competencies 1) Communication Skills - Must be able to effectively and respectfully communicate clearly to a wide range of people - including production personnel, customers. and team members. 2) Initiative - Identify what needs to be done and do it before being asked or before the situation requires it. 3) Thoroughness - Ensure work and information is complete and accurate; carefully preparing for meetings and presentations; following up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled. 4) Results Oriented - Focus on the desired result of one's own work, setting challenging goals, focusing effort on the goals, and meeting or exceeding them. 5) Analytical thinking - Ability to tackle a problem using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to walk, sit or stand for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to handle stress 3. Vision - Close visual acuity to perform and activity such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, inspection involving small defects or welds.
