Job Description

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for understanding customer quality related requirements, driving internal efforts for root cause and quality improvement, while supporting our high standards of precision and quality products in the automotive manufacturing industry. Responsible for maintaining quality processes and procedures in the manufacturing production or process area.

  • Supports Control Plan (CP) development including inspection methodology, prevention controls, detection controls, reaction plans, inspection frequency rationale, and ongoing monitoring
  • Ensure compliance to Process Control Plan requirements.
  • Lead/Drive corrective, preventive, and closure actions for project issues related to quality and/or test non-conformance.
  • Work closely with production line and ensure all necessary controls are enforced to be compliant with ISO and TS16949 requirements.
  • May ensure that quality reporting (e.g. incoming and in-process quality trends; returns analysis, categorization and corrective action activity, etc.) is maintained and documented with the assigned team.
  • Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates to changes to the Quality System Regulations, Standards, and/or guideline procedures when necessary.
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Establish and participate in supplier qualification/development activities.
  • Lead, develop, manage and execute all quality systems required within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Support customers, suppliers, Launch personnel, and Operations staff.
  • Execute PPAP submissions, as required.
  • Lead, develop, manage and execute all quality systems required within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the process flow development including value stream mapping and process and product characteristics.

Quality Engineer Qualifications:

  • Previous Automotive Manufacturing experience in a quality role with Die Casting is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship - Our client will NOT provide United States Sponsorship.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO standards and TS16949.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering
  • Knowledge of quality statistical concepts and robust problem solving methodology and Six Sigma certification.
  • Proven problem solving experience

Salary $60,000 - $80,000 a year.
