Lead business in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Operating System (QOS) and facilitate ISO Certification.
Create and maintain company quality documentation (Level 1-4) and ensure evidence of manufacturing control through establishment of control plans (MCP). Develop and deliver quality training materials. Establish and complete product standards and SOP in support of QOS.
Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving. Develop product standards and test methods to improve and ensure outgoing product and service quality and conformance.
Maintain, acquire and facilitate product certifications and approvals at Federal, State and Municipal levels. Prepare and assist in bid specifications and proposals.
Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system such as application of lean problem solving and kaizen methodologies.
Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints. Maintain corrective action response system (CAR).
Interface with engineering and operations to ensure transfer to production of new products in accordance with specifications and customer requirements. Assist in research and product development.
Conduct audits, close out audit findings, create audit reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions. Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process-related deficiencies.
Monitor suppliers' performance and conduct audits as required. Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
Job Requirements / Prerequisites
Bachelor's Degrees in an applied science or related engineering field required.
Minimum 3 years' experience working in an operations environment, preferably in a quality, technical or operations leadership role. ISO or certification experience.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods & process improvement techniques. Experience with the use of Minitab a plus.
Proficiency with maintaining Quality Operating Systems.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to work "hands-on" with manufacturing and engineering in leading continuous improvement projects and activities.
Knowledge of quality test equipment and procedures.
