Chronos Consulting's client is an international B2B testing and inspection leader.

We are seeking an engineering professional to oversee project management and delivery for new niche engineering service offerings in engine and transportation testing. This business unit offers engineering consulting services to customers who seek to build their own or improve existing automotive engine testing laboratories. This is a client-facing role with 25% travel within the United States, as well as international travel 1-2 times per year. Training and career development offered.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, you will:

  • Lead teams of internal and/or external engineers, consultants, suppliers, and contractors of varied disciplines to provide superior client service from the planning and concept design stages through commissioning and project closeout
  • Assist the Program Manager and participate on a team during the initial phases of client needs assessments, facility condition assessments, and the development of the owner's project requirements
  • Work with the project teams to provide accurate and detailed cost estimating for projects; continuously review work progress and compare it with project budget, schedule, scope, intent, drawings, and specifications
  • Provide technical oversight of the design phase with a focus on ensuring the design efforts and deliverables align with the owner's project requirements and the design intent
  • Maintain quality internal, supplier, and subcontractor relationships; participate in and support business development efforts primarily through client relationship management, customer visits, trade showers, marketing materials, and proposal creation

The Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related relevant experience, coupled with 5+ years of experience in Engineering or a technical field
  • Knowledge of engine, vehicle, and component testing facilities, systems, and equipment
  • Process planning, designing, delivering, and commissioning technical facilities experience
  • Customer-oriented, self-motivated, quality-focused, and responsive; proven record of strong client, internal, supplier, and subcontractor relationships
  • Travel 25% with the USA to client and project sites as needed, plus exposure to international projects
