The Electrical & Instrument (E&I) Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to continuously improve plant instrument/electrical & DCS equipment integrity, reliability, cost and on stream factor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Review all contract documents/drawings and fully understand scope of project. Then advise team on design documents, process control flow diagrams, system/network drawings, wiring/hookup diagrams, and equipment datasheets, vendor purchaser orders etc.
. Perform technical inspections on received equipment
. Assist subcontractors in electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and troubleshooting
. Configure software of supervisory systems in conjunction with instrumentation software
. Integrate all instrumentation, process analyzers, and supervisory systems
. Perform pre-FAT (factory acceptance testing) inspections and testing on electrical and analytical aspects of metering systems. Also perform FAT and training with customers
. Provide remote support to customers for onsite installation activities
. Provide on-site field start up and commissioning, test, troubleshoot, and repair of systems when required.
. Attend SAT (site acceptance testing) of the final product, and work with the client's engineers to assure that the product performs as planned
. Make adjustments to engineering documents to reflect final as-built systems
. Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering or Technical Certification with 3 years of experience working directly with process control, instrumentation and electrical equipment
. Experience with equipment installation & commissioning of process instrumentation and control
. Ability to read and interpret documents such as P&ID, GA, and wiring/hook up drawings
. Experience working with engineering principles and practices
. Electrical, mechanical and industrial controls troubleshooting experience
. Working with process field instrumentation & control equipment: 2 years
. Ability to write detailed reports as well as good verbal communication
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
. Strong troubleshooting, problem solving skills, and solid analytical aptitude are required
. Comfortable learning and understanding operational principles of the Instrumentation to be serviced, maintained or repaired, and explain it to the customer
. Eager to learn new software programs, instrumentation configuration, and new technologies
. Ability to work with computers, electronics, and digital communications
. Computer skills with knowledge of MS Word / Excel, Outlook, Adobe PDF Pro, and networking
. Must be customer and detail oriented
. Must be capable of presenting dynamic, engaging presentations
. Must have good Interpersonal skills to work with customers and other unit personnel
. Ability to adapt to different cultures

. Travel Required, Approximately 30% (may include some weekends), domestic and international
. US Citizen or Permanent Resident with valid passport and authorized to travel on international assignments ( 25% travel estimated)
. Must have a valid driver's license
RECOMMENDED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
. Prior experience on gas metering skids in a gas plant, refinery, pipeline or oil field application
. Sound understanding of electrical and field instrumentation equipment viz. pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters and/or process analyzers viz. GC, Moisture, flow computers etc.
. Ability to complete integration of these field devices with PLC, DCS or SCADA plant control systems when required
. Previous experience with communication and integration with AGA/API compliant flow computers, PLC's, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems
. Strong computer skills, including networking, database management with HMI
. Knowledge of the industrial communication protocols HART, MODBUS, FIELDBUS, TCP/IP etc.
. Prior experience working with AutoCAD & VISIO drawings is preferred but not mandatory
. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
. Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations 85 feet.
. The employee may be exposed to industrial plant environments
