Project Engineer - Commercial Construction - Raleigh - Fast-Growing Company - 2 years construction experience
A large and dynamic commercial developer is seeking a qualified Project Engineer that is looking for challenges and a strong growth opportunity. The Project Engineer participates in all aspects of development projects. This position is under the direction/supervision of the Project Manager. This key Project Engineer will provide a broad range of technical and administrative support to the Project Team.
Familiarity with aspects of the construction process including, but not limited to construction law, contract and subcontract administration, scheduling, accounting, estimating, purchasing, leadership and management of human resources.
Computer proficiency is essential; including Microsoft Office and construction software such as project management software and scheduling software.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, are mandatory for the successful execution of this position.
Assist Estimating Department by helping with sub/supplier pre-qualification, participating in bid solicitation, quantity surveys, etc.
Prepare Bid Analysis.
Request and review alternative means and methods from bidders with the intent of improving the overall success of each project.
Review development of plans/specs for compliance with budget/schedule.
Participate in purchasing with project team.
Utilize Project Management Software to record and track all document control issues including revised contract documents, architects field orders, supplemental instructions, bulletins, addenda and RFI's.
Follow up to determine if there is a time and money impact associated with field orders, bulletins, ASI's RFI's etc.Maintain updated set of drawings and specs in field and office reflecting changes made by RFI, ASI, field changes, etc.
Assist Superintendent and Project Manager in preparation and updating of Construction Schedule. Assist Superintendent in preparing and distributing 3-week Look-Ahead Schedules.
In coordination with the Project Team, identify and expedite critical materials.
Regularly communicate schedule requirements and status to subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare agenda; record and distribute Jobsite Coordination Meeting Minutes.
Associates degree in engineering, business, or construction management is desired.
Other degrees and/or equivalent construction field experience may be acceptable alternatives.
Minimum of 2 years construction field/project experience.
10 Hour OSHA certificate of training
