Job Description:

Prepare civil engineering plans forexisting and future US Ecology Texas and other facilities as needed. Duties and responsibilities includepreparation of engineering calculations and plans, technical review of thirdparty plans, cost-benefit analysis, review of closure/post closure costestimations, and project management for complex capital investments undertakenby operating facilities. ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop engineering plans for landfill liner systems and surface impoundments in concert with site constraints, regulatory provisions, and input provided by US Ecology management teams. Coordinateand review secondary design components prepared by third parties, as needed.Projectmanagement of complex construction projects including engineering review,development of bid packages, contractor selection and contractdevelopment/management.Reviewlandfill as-built surveys; including volume surveys and compactionoptimization. Provideprocess engineering support and associated monitoring and evaluation of wastetreatment processes.Identifypotential design or operational innovations and efficiencies. Modifyor otherwise review the engineered storm water management controls for eachsite.Ensuresafe, compliant and efficient design and operation of applicable leachatecollection and detection systems. Seekcontinued education in relevant fields of professional engineering.Helpensure systems are designed and constructed in compliance with federal, state,and local regulations.Assists in business acquisitions and technology evaluationDevelopment and review of closure and post-closure plans and estimation of closure costs at active and closed sites.Assist in the preparation of cost-benefit analysis for technological improvements or reagent alternatives, as needed. Assist in the development of master site plans for long-term operational considerations. Performs other, related duties asassigned. Goodknowledge of AutoCAD, Slope/W, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and mappingsoftware. Certifications, licenses, registrations: Professional Engineering License Language SkillsExcellent verbal and oralcommunication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complexdocuments. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries orcomplaints. Ability to make effectiveand persuasive presentations on technical topics to top management or publicgroups. Mathematical SkillsUnderstandingof calculus principles and other complex mathematical concepts. Reasoning AbilityAbilityto apply engineering principles to a wide range of intellectual and practicalproblems. Ability to deal with nonverbalsymbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficultphases. Ability to deal with a varietyof abstract and concrete variables.
