Production Support EngineerLocation: Slade Green, LondonStart date: ASAPDuration: PERMHours: 35 per weekPay rate: 33,036 rising to 41,293 Allowances: London Allowance 1,336 rising to 1,780 Shifts: Yes Job expiry date: 21/11/16 Purpose of the Job To support production to deliver first time fixes through the interrogation of train data (EMS, XDM, RCM, OTMR etc) and the provision of scopes of work. This role works alongside the Defect Controllers (MDC) providing technical support and capturing defects as they are reported. To support production in reducing incidents as a result of maintenance activities. Working in conjunction with technical services to understand root cause and implement quick fixes such as briefing, process improvement, best practice, coaching, improving or developing fault finding guides, pre production activities (projects) etc. Proactive use of train data to identify problem units prior to in service failure, raising work reports and scopes of work. Also post rectification of technically challenging faults or long-term stoppers use train data to monitor units for a period of six days to ensure fault free running. For technically challenging faults which extend across shifts the role monitors, records and reports progress thus providing continuity across shift. The same applies to the management and reporting of long term stoppers. Post rectification of technically challenging faults or long-term stoppers monitor units for a period of six days to ensure fault free running. The role also provides support for technical issues affecting production delivery such as procedural clarification, component identification etc. To develop and manage a controlled data base for train software in conjunction with technical services and the updating of engineers laptops. This also includes first line fault finding for engineering laptops and tracking rectification.To provide cover for delay attribution through Trust, ensuring all engineering and shunter delays are investigated and processed accordingly.(Mainline only) The company aims to recruit people not just for jobs but for long term careers. Geographical knowledge of the client's routes, including capabilities and facilities available at the clients depots and berthing facilities Technical Knowledge of rolling stock systems on the clients fleets. General Technical knowledge of all current types of the client operated Rolling Stock. Knowledge of IT systems, including Windows, Word, Excel, together with a good understanding of mainframe systems, including EMS, TRUST, and hybrid systems such as GENIUS and RAVERS Good knowledge of rules and regulations, particularly those applicable to DC EMU rolling stock At least 3 years experience in a T&RS engineering environment HND / HNC in an Engineering Discipline desirable Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Demonstrable Team Worker. Ability to evaluate and solve problems Ability to make sound decisions Self motivated and able to meet tight deadlines if the need arises. Other The post Holder will be required to hold a full UK driving licence. Post holder must be able to obtain PTS certification. Must have attended the following Training Courses within 12 months of Appointment:- Depot Induction (at relevant depot) Fire Training (Primary Module) Emergency First Aid For Electrical Accidents Personal Track Safety COSHH Assessment
