SALARY RANGE: $65,000 to $77,000

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
***. Chemical Engineering minimum; 3+ years of experience in some kind
of chemical manufacturing plant, ideally a PSM-regulated facility
(chemicals, coatings, pharmaceuticals, etc). Candidates will need to
have at least one year of hands-on, in-plant troubleshooting
(production) experience and should also have done some optimization
and/or improvement work. Candidates MUST have the ability to work
closely with union operators, and have the ability to guide and mentor
them. Pluses include: experience with data analysis, experience with
scaling a process up from bench or pilot to full-scale manufacturing,
experience with some kind of reaction chemistry, experience with
distillation, and/or six-sigma certification. Personality is really
the key for this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This person will work at a 200-person plant that makes high-purity
specialty chemicals. This person will be one of five engineers
assigned to a designated production line within the plant. This job is
open because one of the engineers in this group was promoted to a role
at another plant within the company. 40% of this job will be oriented
towards day-to-day support of the production line which includes
training and mentoring operators. 30% of this job will be assisting in
the development and scale-up of new products from bench to pilot to
full-scale manufacturing. 15% of this job will be doing process
optimization and data analysis work. The remaining 15% of this role
will be working with vendors, toll processors and internal customer
within the ***. to ensure quality of materials and product. This
company has its headquarters in Richmond, VA and operates
manufacturing plants, office and research and production facilities in
