Our client is currently seeking a PRODUCT ENGINEER for a long term contract in Southfield, MI.

Resume Qualifications: . BSME/BSEE or equivalent experience . Experience in working with Automotive OEM's . Automotive seating experience is preferred . Knowledge of GD&T, DFSS and DFMEA creation is preferred Management / Personal Qualifications: . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. . Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. . Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines. . Ability to be a creative, independent and self motivated thinker . Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements. . Team oriented approach Job Specific Requirements: . Lead the design of new seating systems components from conception until product launch . Integration of foam, trim, plastics, structures, and other non-JIT components into the final seat complete assembly . Responsible for foam, plastic and other JIT component releasing: o Seat complete BOM management o Engineering Changes release . Issue and manage engineering changes to implementation . Issue and manage design requests for drawing and 3D updates . Prepare and update seat complete DFMEA along with analyzing supporting teams' DFMEAs . Facilitate design for manufacturing meetings and process with manufacturing facilities . Facilitate engineering profile gate/design reviews o Technical internal and external competitive benchmarking . Support and participate in prototype builds, . Manage one off mockups to show feasibility of design proposals . Willingness to travel locally, interstate, and internationally

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Position focus: Responsible for the integration of seat components into a seat and vehicle system during all phases of development. Responsible for working with other cross functional teams to coordinate CAD, CAE, tooling and design for manufacturing.
