Job Description

Title: Product Engineer

Summary: Provide product design support for assigned product group(s), Product Group Manager, or sales representatives through product design, creation, design validation, and confirmation of specifications and validation of manufacturability within existing technologies.

Occasional travel may be required to support trade show activities or for on-site customer support.

Job Duties:

  • Design: Produces product designs, SolidWorks drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing routes, and support documentation with adherence to applicable industry and customer standards / specifications, performance requirements, and agency approvals. Ensure design costing is consistent with quotation.

  • Design validation: Perform testing as required to ensure designs perform to and meet all Durex, customer, and applicable agency requirements.

  • Manufacturing Interface: Provide design support to manufacturing to help ensure efficient flow of production. Engage manufacturing via PQAs to ensure manufacturability prior to release of production.

  • Customer Interface: Act as the product design focal point for customer design changes, application assistance, and clarification of design requirements.

  • Tooling Interface: Provide design support to tooling manufacturing to help ensure efficient flow of production. Engage tooling manufacturing via PQAs to ensure manufacturability prior to release of production.

  • Quality Assurance Interface: Act as the product design focal point for QA performance parameters within assign product group.

  • Project Management: Complete assigned projects on-time and manage data reporting for completeness and accuracy.

  • Product and Process Enhancements: Executes investigations related to product design and manufacturing enhancements as directed by the Director of Engineering.

  • Provide general guidance to others and train lower level employees as requested.

  • Contribute to additional efforts as requested.
