Job Description

Product Application Engineer

Description:

  • Manage the process for identifying new global/regional business opportunities by analyzing future product requirements and actively participate on the strategy team.
  • Initiate and complete design projects (internally with customers, other Tier 1 companies, and industry) to promote advance automotive products in production vehicles;
  • Assist in the investigation, identification, and definition of new or enhanced products and/or revenue opportunities;
  • Develop and manage a structured process to evaluate and build business cases for new business opportunities and act as sponsor through the commercial funding process;
  • Identify future road map for grade/product development to direct research and development activities and lead trial activities of new products across all USS facilities;
  • Work across with technical Joint Ventures, Research & Development, and other partners to develop and refine product designs;
  • Stay abreast of industry issues, trends, and developments that are relevant for product development or evaluating product design opportunities;
  • Serve as a technical representative for Sales in customer discussions; Work with Product Managers to assess how/if potential new product opportunities fit into the overall product strategy.
  • Specific for the Impact Engineer role This position will work with the customer, at their location, on behalf of our client to develop impact / crash solutions using LS DYNA impact models.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills as well as the technical knowledge of running impact simulations for the automotive industry.
  • Design automotive structures using Advanced High Strength Steels Running LS DYNA for full crash models within an OEM's data network
  • Required: LS DYNA
  • Prefered: AutoForm, DYNAForm, PAM Stamp, NASTRAN, Catia, NX
  • Duration - 18 month's with possibility of extension.
