Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaison between Extrusion Operations, Quality, Application Technology, as well as German-based R&D to ensure optimal quality and productivity are being met on the blown extrusion lines.

Support the development of applicable Operator training processes and documentation and insure all Job Instructions, Recipes, and Processes are followed in the Extrusion Operation for each Product.

Work with Quality and Extrusion Operations to establish Machine Process Capabilities by Product on an ongoing basis in order to optimize efficiency, productivity, and product quality.

Support the Quality, Application Technology and the Commercial Team to establish appropriate Internal and External (Customer) Product Specifications that fall within established machine capabilities.

Responsible for the Planning, Communication, Setup and Preparation, Execution, Testing, and Follow-up Reporting on new trials.

Work with Quality and Application Technology to investigate and resolve Customer concerns or complaints and support the implementation of any needed Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis.

Investigate and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and raw materials.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Plastics, or Polymer Technology or in a related field preferred with 5-10 years related experience in a technical position in Blown Film manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.

Experienced in Design of Experiments to optimize Quality and Productivity.

Hands on working knowledge of extrusion processes. Familiarity with silicone coating and release film slitting operations a plus.

SKILLS

Experienced leader with a proactive approach to problem solving and team building.

Able to work independently or in a group; self directed, self motivated

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to instruct employees one on one and in a group setting.

Computer literate. MS Office required.

Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite advantageous.

Statistical analysis including Process Capability (Ppk, Cpk etc..) and data trend analysis.

Continuous improvement implementation and sustainability; Lean certification advantageous.

Extensive knowledge of safe work practices, standard operating procedures and conditions.
