Process Engineer, with a background in elastomers, needed to conduct process implementation and new product development (in conjunction with the French industrialization headquarters) for a leading global manufacturer of progressing cavity pumps for the Oil and Gas, Food and Industrial sectors. This engineer will provide day to day technical support on material and process related activities. This is a permanent position in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities for the Process Engineer

  • Implement the elastomer injection process related activities including but not limited to tube preparation, bond coating, extrusion and vulcanization
  • Coordinate, and perform elastomer and bond agent quality control testing including material disposition. Maintain and calibrate laboratory test equipment.
  • Perform gap analysis and support process standardization within manufacturing plants under the guidance of global engineering.
  • Support, and as required, lead troubleshooting activities at the Houston plant related to other processes such as machining, welding, and assembly. Develop and maintain a troubleshooting guide for common process and quality related issues
  • Coordinate. monitor and document trials at the plant to support new product development

Requirements for the Process Engineer

  • B.S. or B.Eng in polymer science/engineering, mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Familiarity with failure analysis of elastomer products
  • Strong technical reporting/writing and project management skills
  • Experience in manufacturing environment and familiarity with tooling and equipment preferred
  • Knowledge/experience in elastomer testing and manufacturing process highly desired
  • Fluent in French would be an asset
