QuEST is looking for a Power Plant Cost Engineer. Essential Job Functions: Create thorough documentation and specifications of power systems' components. Be aware of the requirement of a variety of transmission facilities, equipment and media Have an understanding and general knowledge of NERC Standards Responsible for the estimating cost of power plant construction projects including, forecast and risk updates, and support of project manager on all cost related matters Perform cost analysis of components and systems during benchmarking, competitive product teardowns and new product development initiatives. Monitors all cost components, analyzes budget variances, develops forecasts, and reports on cost Analyze and establish cost estimates of: Product costs and investment requirements in tooling/equipment and supplier manufacturing facilities Suppliers' current production processes. Change order Active participation in supplier meetings and Purchasing negotiations to develop (piece) cost and investment (tool) estimates for assigned projects through extensive analysis of manufacturing cost structure and supplier capabilities Communicate with vendors, quality, productions and reliability engineering. Perform feasibility studies in all phases of the innovation process related to new product projects and support business case evaluations. Execute feasibility studies regarding alternative production methods to reduce costs Maintain cost program databases and metrics and do cost forecasting based on the schedule Performs regular reviews of all risks and opportunities with the project team and manages the updates to the tracking system Coordinate project reporting to project managers Perform forecasting analysis based on trends; progress/productivity measurement, risk analysis & change management Support of design reviews and tollgate process Seek out new work opportunities for QuEST Secondary Job Functions: At QuEST, we often challenge our team members to temporarily work outside the scope of their primary job functions to broaden their skills and help the organization. Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
