Qualitek Services has an immediate 6 months+ contract opening for a Power Design Engineer with Cadence/ORCAD/Allegro experience in the Buffalo, New York (East Aurora) area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for development of complex electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, and electro-pneumatic components and systems that will become the new products of Corporate.

The incumbent plans and conducts efforts requiring authoritative judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard and nonstandard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

The Design Engineer independently devises new approaches for the problems encountered and plans and coordinates the work of others on major engineering projects.

Pay Rate: $80/hr MAX DOE

REQUIRED SKILLS

**** Must be a US Citizen ****
****There is NO relocation assistance available for this position******

Candidate must have a Bachelors with at least 10 years of previous work experience.

High-Power design experience for Launch and Exploration Systems.

10 years minimum experience in Aerospace Electrical Engineering
AC and DC Converter/Inverter design experience
Motor Drive Experience (Brushless DC, Six Step, Induction, etc.)

Must be able to design their own magnetics, EMI filters, and power bridges.

Expectation is all simulations will be done in Corporate tools (Cadence, Allegro and ORCAD suite)

-Write VHDL and do Matlab Simulink would be a bonus

-General Space/DOD knowledge
