Plumbing Design Engineer - Project Manager
Position Summary: This Engineering firm is growing and seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer to join their team. This individual will be responsible for the plumbing design of projects throughout WI and surrounding states. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design of Domestic Water Distribution, Solar Water Heating, Natural Gas, Acid Waste, Storm & Sanitary Drainage and Medical Gas Distribution
Project design, planning, and fee proposals budget tracking
Coordinate with and review plans and work with Municipalities and other approval bodies
Serve as primary client contact for planned or ongoing projects
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with existing team of designers and engineers to follow through with tasks and recommend solutions for project designs.
Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering
15-20 years' experience working in Wisconsin with the Wisconsin Plumbing Code; HVAC design & engineering experience will not be considered as equivalent experience in plumbing design and engineering
Knowledge & experience with plumbing equipment and installation
Experience with AutoCAD, preference will be given to Revit familiarity
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
Strong Plumbing & Fire Protection design fundamentals, including a background and knowledge of Wisconsin Plumbing Code, NFPA, life safety codes and health care plumbing design
Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and a functional level
Acting as a primary lead and provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction
Providing value engineering options for existing designs
Preparing detailed drawings and models for projects using the applications of theoretical and practical design knowledge
Must be a licensed PE or DE in Wisconsin (preference given to PE)
Familiarity with the State of Wisconsin DFD design standards
