Our client is a well-known global company with decades of experience in sales and trading of chemical and industrial materials. An exciting career opportunity awaits. Poised for growth, the organization seeks a dedicated, confident, knowledgeable, and personable sales professional with experience selling plastic resins into the automotive industry. This is an excellent high potential position with future advancement opportunities available.

The primary focus of the Sales Professional is the sales of plastic resins into Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automotive Companies. This achiever will be integral in new business development. The position will be home based with the ideal location close to customers (Detroit, MI, etc.). This person will report into the corporate office on the East Coast once or twice a month.




Responsibilities:


  • Apply knowledge and experience regarding plastic resin sales into the automotive industry
  • Understand the approval process (quality/testing, etc.) and sales process of plastic resin to auto industries
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with prospective and existing customers
  • Maintain all communications between the company and its existing and prospective customers
  • Develop and maintain work and social relationships with customers and personnel that have influence in purchasing activities
  • Develop an understanding of customer requirements
  • Resolve customer problems and complaints.
  • Maintain current data on customer requirements and competitive supplier information.
  • Provide updates and prepare reports on customer status and market conditions
  • Cultivate new markets and accounts
  • Travel to visit customers
  • Collaborate with corporate office
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience


  • Plastic resin sales experience 5-20 years into Tier 1 and 2 companies for the Automotive Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Persuasive and clear communication skills to work with variety of groups and people

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a creative attitude, proven results, strategic thinking, and flexibility in problem solving. Must be a high achiever with strong work ethic and able to work independently and within a close knit team. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills as well as the ability to work with customers is essential.

Title, base salary, commission, and excellent benefits commensurate with experience.
