Under the supervision of the First Line Supervisor utilize paint prep, sand blast booth and paint booth\. Have a complete knowledge, and be able to paint CARC, Media Blast operation, and additionally be able to apply corrosion control methods and technologies\. Examine a variety of goods, services or operations for conformity to established quality, health, safety, legal, ethical or other standards, by performing any combination of duties and responsibilities addressed below\.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1\. Knowledgeable in the area of the Environmental Hazardous Material Program for Paint Shop\.
2\. Operates in a safe manner in accordance with all safety guidelines and regulations\.
3\. Service paint booth filters and air compressor components as necessary\.
4\. Ensures that all equipment is properly prepared prior to painting including all glass, rubber and canvas items are covered, all rust areas are cleaned and all bare metal areas are primed prior to painting\.
5\. Disposes hazardous waste properly in accordance with all safety and hazardous material rules and regulations\.
6\. Follows established policies and procedures\.
7\. Maintains the highest standards of workmanship and quality\. Takes care of government parts, tools and equipment\.
8\. Attends all monthly safety training classes\.
9\. Performs other duties as assigned\.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Office Automation, Commercial and tactical automotive, automated and hand tools; TMDE; material handling equipment\. Operate all painting equipment and media blast equipment\.
Work is generally conducted in a shop environment\. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out\-of\-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions\. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs\.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents\. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment \(PPE\) is required in certain areas\. Such PPE includes, but, is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices, and must be in compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules\.
Physical requirements may require lifting up to 45 lbs, stooping; climbing, prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required\.
Work is generally conducted in an urban or office environment and may require driving to off site locations\. Duties may involve working in the out of doors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions\.
High school graduate/GRE
A valid US driver?s license is required
A minimum of two \(2\) years actual and recent experience in painting in automotive or industrial environment\.
Experience with overhaul repainting required\.
Must be knowledgeable in Handling and Disposal of Hazardous Material\.
Must be able to work independent and as a team member\.
Must have normal color vision\.
