Job Description

Our client in Nashville, Tennessee has a Full Time / Direct Hire job opening for a Network Engineer:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, build, implement, and support new network architectures in a predominantly Cisco environment.
  • Administer and maintain existing network. Troubleshoot complex customer issues and coordinate third party vendor interaction to ensure prompt and professional resolution.
  • Serve as technical consultant to our sales team as well as pre-sales engineering with our customers.
  • Assist in researching, evaluating, and recommending new technologies to management for consideration.
  • Travel up to 50% as required throughout our service area.
  • After-hours on-call support rotation.
  • Serve as technical lead on new contracts with assistance from Senior Engineers
  • Knowledge transfer, cross-training, and documentation in a group setting.
  • Participate in scheduled backbone or customer maintenance events after hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 + years of LAN and WAN implementation experience.
  • Significant and demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting large scale multi-protocol networks with strong experience configuring Cisco routers, switches, and security appliances.
  • Experience working with various routing protocols and technologies such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, QOS, and Multicasting.
  • Experience working in switched environments with strong understanding of layer2 networks and topologies as it relates to design in Metro Ethernet deployments.
  • Experience working in VoIP deployments a plus. Must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities;
  • Must have a positive attitude, ability to work in a team environment and perform efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering preferred; Professional Level Cisco certification is preferred.
