Mechanical Engineer - Engine Development and Test Martin UAV is actively building a team of world-class engineers to develop revolutionary unmanned aircraft systems technology. We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team in development, test and initial production efforts for a VTOL UAV. The successful candidate will work closely with aerodynamics, flight control and manufacturing engineers. The ideal candidate should be able to contribute broadly but will be primarily responsible for mechanical development. Required:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.Experience in design review, integration and test of UAV engines.Design and coordinating builds of engine systems and components, electrical wiring modeling and engine grooming, drawing release and peer review, and applying manufacturability, Design For Assembly, and integration knowledge to parts and subsystem designs.Establishing and developing vendor relationships, regular maintenance of CAD data in Solidworks and EPDM, creation and leading of detailed technical Peer Reviews to ensure Best Practices and past lessons learned are implemented on new programs.Daily coordination with other engineering design teams which includes physical integration (packaging) and functional integration work, negotiating with competing components and requirements, continuous enhancement of current standard analysis practices.Keeping abreast of current product developments and trends in area of responsibility.Experience working with suppliers for rapid prototyping and low volume production.Must be hands-on and able to work independently with minimum supervisionAn inventive aptitude, balanced with discipline and detail-orientation Desired:Manufacturing experience in UAV aircraft engines and propulsionKnowledge and experience with the aerospace industry. Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times and under all circumstances Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Strong customer service, quality, and team orientationCommitment to continuous improvement of knowledge, skills and abilities.
