.Engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
.Calculations including but not limited to: pressure relief valve sizing, pipe sizing, pump sizing, valve selection, steam trap selection, heat transfer, and mechanics of materials
.Development of piping material specifications
.Pipe stress analysis (static and dynamic analysis preferred)
.Knowledge of HVAC (airside and water side) system application and design codes
.The candidate should have knowledge of the following Codes and Standards: ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, Division I, API 650, API 520, API 653, International Building Code, NFPA.
.Software preferences: CAESAR II, TRACE 700, Revit MEP, Autodesk Plant 3D, PVElite, TANK
.Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
.Minimum 4 years of relevant heavy industrial experience with preference given for experience in Pulp & Paper and/or Specialty Chemical industries
.Performing field work required to gather necessary data and deliver clear and concise field notes.
.Design of complex process and utility piping systems.
.Development of detailed and conceptual equipment layouts
.Knowledge of plumbing code and design standards
.Design of above ground storage tanks per API 650 including heat transfer calculations for heating coils and insulation
.Design and specification of pipe supports
.Experienced in PFD and P&ID development.
.Provide estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate required
.Prepare technical bid documents and review construction bids. The candidate should be capable of reviewing material submittals, equipment submittals and vendor drawings to ensure adherence with specifications.
.Review of mechanical and piping drawings, providing clear and concise comments for drawing corrections and revisions
.Responsible for inter-discipline coordination
.Ensure that the highest level of design quality, integrity and performance are maintained with strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
.Good interpersonal skills and be able to effectively listen and communicate with clients in providing solutions to problems, developing project design criteria, and aid in equipment selection and specifications.
