Job Description Essential Job Functions:
QuEST-Global is seeking an experienced and educated Compliance Engineer to join our growing Configuration Management Engineering team. This team is located in Greenville, SC.
The Compliance Engineer will provide technical guidance, leadership, and execution of tasks required to drive compliance to global technical regulation sand standards in the Gas Power Technology Organization for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, Controls, BOP, and Accessories.
Lead compliance for products at the international, national, and local levels of regulations and standards in all phases of a project, including Inquiry To Order (ITO) proposal support, Order to Receipt (OTR) project execution, and New Product Initiatives (NPI) compliance evaluations for New Unit and Conversions, Modifications and Uprates (CM&U) projects.
Develop and maintain sound processes and practices driving robust TR&S requirements flow-down and configuration management to promote compliance to such requirements.
Provide subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: Machinery Safety, Functional Safety, Workplace Safety, Explosive Atmospheres, Pressure Equipment, Building/Fire Codes, Electrical Safety, Energy Efficiency, Electromagnetic Compatibility, and Environmental, Health, & Safety.
Identify and interpret application of global technical regulations and standards as they relate to products.
Coordinate with/across multiple projects, engineering organizations, commercial operations and installation/field personnel.
Provide a single point of contact for compliance inquiries, questions, and communications related to assigned projects.
Utilize hand calculations, FEA, and test data to justify design changes against acceptance criteria
Ability to communicate to vendors design intent and to elicit feedback
Complete all associated project management activities and follow all document processes
Provide compliance guidance to Project Management, Commercial Operations, and Application Engineering.
Review global technical regulations and standards requirements and communicate to all design functions, utilizing internal documentation systems.
Responsibility for input to cost & cycle estimates/customer proposals and understanding of relevant technical regulations and standards in order to apply to products.
Responsibility for managing Product Compliance Evaluations on NPI programs for new unit and CM&U requisitions.
Provide compliance support to engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, vendors, installation engineering/personnel to ensure equipment meets all technical regulations and standards as required.
Direct domestic/global resources and review results for technical correctness and accuracy.

A BS in Mechanical Engineering
Prefer Master's in Engineering
5+ years of professional experience as a Compliance Engineer
Demonstrated Leadership and project management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated creativity and problem solving capability
Working experience of international, national and local codes and standards including but not limited to Machinery Safety, Functional Safety, Workplace Safety, Explosive Atmospheres, Pressure Equipment, Building Codes, Fire Codes, Electrical Safety, Energy Efficiency, Electromagnetic Compatibility, and Environmental, Health, & Safety.
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted codes, standards, and approvals related to CSA, FM, UL, NEC, IEC, IECEx, EU (ATEX, EMC, PED, LV), ASME, ANSI, IBC/Eurocode, NFPA, SIL and grid codes.
Experience and/or knowledge of Design, Engineering, Manufacture, assembly, installation and/or testing.
Previous experience working with or for notified body or compliance regulatory agency.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Mostly Office Environments. Occasional Shop Floor involvement

Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
