* Essential Functions:

* Perform Skilled Mechanical duties involving operations, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing natural gas engines, compressors, generators and other power driven equipment.

* Inspect engines, compressors and mechanical equipment: diagnose problems and determine extent of necessary repairs; perform repairs and routine preventative maintenance.

* Overhaul, repair and adjust engines, compressors, pumps, motors.

* Maintenance and repair of ignition systems, carburetion equipment, fuel injection systems and emissions control systems.

* Perform Skilled Mechanical duties involving operations, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing natural gas engines, compressors, generators and other power driven equipment.

* Inspect engines, compressors and mechanical equipment: diagnose problems and determine extent of necessary repairs; perform repairs and routine preventative maintenance.

* Detailed awareness of compressor components including: lubrication systems, shutdown systems, loading and unloading valves, pistons, valves and electrical systems.

* Maintain compressor logs, diaries, oil sampling and inventories of parts, equipment, lube oils and coolants.

* General upkeep of facilities and equipment including: engines/compressors, company vehicle and shopEssential Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required

* Previous Work Experience - 5 years or more.

* Proven experience with Caterpillar, Waukesha and White Superior engines, Ariel and Superior compressors.

* Proven experience with various pumps, fans and motor repairs Including repair, alignment and replacement

* Ability to assume & perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions

* Work well with others and also be able to perform work independently.

* Demonstrate sound judgment.

* Make decisions and corrections when problems are detected.

* Have knowledge of safety rules and practices and a very good safety record.

* Have proven mechanical aptitude.

* Have a history of being dependable & reliable.

* Good organizational skills, good customer relations skills, and a record of very positive work performance.

* Proven knowledge of plant safety and operation

* Read and understand repair manuals, procedures and standards

Preferred Skills:

* At least five years of practical, mechanical experience working on rotating equipment.

* Ability to work with minimal supervision

* Computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications preferredSpecial Characteristics/Job Requirements:

* Dynamic, fast-paced, demanding environment

* Work outside in all types of inclement weather

* Must have a good driving record.

* Physical capabilities of: standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, frequent heavy lifting

* Able to support existing on call schedule, some overtime is required.

* Must be team oriented, self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety, operational, and environmental policies
