Job Description:

Position Summary: The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating and testing materials and processes. Support continuous improvements, process optimization and material development and procedural documentation through the application of our quality standards and requirements. Essential Functions: Evaluate materials and processes, and their limitations Support organizational ISO 9001 / AS9100 and Nadcap compliance Evaluate lab test results, make non-conformance dispositions related to materials and processes Conduct technical analysis of existing processes and new customers' process specifications including chemical processing (conversion coatings, anodizing, etc), painting, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing Provide training regarding materials and processes to Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement groups Write process specifications to ensure compliance with all customer requirements Devise qualification test plans to support customer approval of Arnprior Aerospace processes Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues and provide technical assistance to Operations and Quality Assurance Mandatory Requirements: Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline or other related field of study (i.e. metallurgy and materials science). 0 to 5 years recent experience (within last 5 years) in the materials and special processing arena - specifically heat treatment, protective finishes and paint. Additional Experience and Qualifications: Knowledge of aircraft materials including common aluminum alloys. Experience working with military and /or aerospace industry standards such as MIL specs, Federal specs, AMS standards, ASTM standards, etc. Continuous quality improvement (CQI) tools knowledge. Blueprint (engineering drawing, digital production definition) reading experience. Experience using MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint). ISO 9001 / AS9100 registration support experience.
