Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (Machining Expertise) Location: Sallisaw, Oklahoma The Manufacturing Engineer works in a high precision manufacturing environment where cutting edge technology is being developed! Responsible for applying manufacturing engineering and project management skills to plan, coordinate, and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes that integrate equipment and personnel for product offerings. Develops customer packaging designs for finished goods Implements standardized work within the plant. Develops innovative material handling solutions in the plant. Develops and implements ergonomic projects to improve workplace safety. Maintains the plant layout CAD file and supports the development of plant layout changes to achieve work flow improvements. Maintains and updates the plant routing labor standards for each operation. Works with Advanced ME Team to track and develop cost requests for modifications to existing programs and new program quotations. Evaluate and propose manufacturing processes and procedures within area of responsibility. Use statistical tools and principles to collect and analyze data, solve problems, and perform process capability studies. Performs time studies and analyzes data to determine production times and staffing requirements. Produces workforce utilization plans, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for optimal efficiency. Analyze existing production efficiencies and physical plant organization and recommends improvements in existing equipment, design, and methods. Evaluate alternative production methods, determines proper machine, human resources, training, and communication system requirements. Monitor and provide direction through out the build process according to APQP procedures. Provide support for equipment run off and PPAP at equipment suppliers. Work with Maintenance and Production to troubleshoot and restore equipment to proper working order. Implement lean principles to do root cause analysis for production, quality and waste issues. Work closely with local management team to implementation kaizen events to achieve process improvement and cost reduction goals. Create and maintain documentation for equipment/gaging tooling, capital, and machine controls. Support APQP teams to launch new programs and program changes to existing parts. Support Quality in the development of the Dynamic Control Plans for products and 8D analysis for quality concerns. EDUCATION Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering. EXPERIENCE Minimum five years hands-on work experience in a manufacturing engineering environment. Extensive work in machining, with other experience in fabrication, finishing and assembly operations. Familiarity with automotive PPAP process and ISO14001/TS16949 requirements preferred. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Results oriented. Capable of analyzing and improving equipment, tooling, fixtures, material handling, work cells, material flow, and methods. Detail oriented in cost estimating methodologies including time study, validation through the final product costing process. Experience working on new product development teams. Experience in Continuous Flow Manufacturing (CFM) and a sound understanding of lean principles, pull systems, and continuous improvement. This position requires relocation to the Sallisaw, Oklahoma or Fort Smith, Arkansas area. Only qualified candidates willing to relocate need apply. Key Must Have's: Results oriented.
