Job Description:

OVERVIEW OF OPPORTUNITY AND COMPANY: Mature, successful and growing high-tech firm located in the "Silicon Forest" of Oregon.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for testing applications and platforms developed by Company Product Engineering, and moving validated products through release. The incumbent will be responsible for working closely with the Design and Manufacturing teams to communicate metrics, status and results for manufacturing offshore. Molding experience and working knowledge of PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes is required. Additionally, sustaining functions for products and platforms are provided by this individual.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: . Create, organize and implement test plans for products under development. Test hardware elements and platforms. Test and validation of product configurations, test software applications (black box scenario). Work closely with Engineering Department to support all New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. Actively participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Develop and implement IQs, OQs, and PQs; write test protocols. Work with suppliers to ensure process validations and capability studies are implemented. Disposition internal Non-conformances, complete NCR reports, actively participate in all MRB activities. Provide root cause analysis/corrective actions to customer related quality issues. Complete 8D reports. Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues; review SCAR responses and provide feedback to QA. Design fixtures, develop process flows on the assembly line. Maintain legacy platforms. Maintain version control and archive product specifications. Materiel and excess inventory disposition planning. Clearly document activities, results, status, recommendations, etc.. Write Functional Specs, Work Instructions; create Routings, initiate FAI requests. Train staff, including Asian Supply Chain personnel. Write ECOs; have experience in document management systems. Work with Company Product Marketing to create manuals, documentation, etc.CORE COMPETENCIES:. Experience working with company in similar capacity. Strong English/Mandarin written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge and experience with molding processes. Working knowledge of PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes. Experienced & in-depth knowledge in SMT, mechanical assembly, soldering, cleaning processes, etc.. Familiarity with electronics manufacturing industry standards and practices (e.g. IPC 600/610). The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and effectively communicate technical solutions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. The ability to program tools and scripts for automated software testing. The ability to clearly document test results, configuration parameters, process and training materials. The ability to read and comprehend AV system drawings, specifications and technical manuals
