Our recent expansion has afforded us an opportunity to seek additional MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS - ASSEMBLY for the Production Engineering Department at our MONROE, GA facility. The primary role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. The Manufacturing Engineer may also coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.

Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.

Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs.

Gives input to product design based on design for manufacture/design for assembly philosophy.

Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

Develop and document quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans.)

Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.

Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime, scrap, and efficiencies.

Utilize data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc. to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.

Leads or participates in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.

Qualified Applicants will possess the following:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) years Engineering experience. Experience in automotive manufacturing industry is preferred.

Experience in robotics/auto bolt tightening systems/vision systems/laser marking systems.

Able to program robots/vision systems/laser marking systems.

Fixture/jig design experience.

Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.

Problem analysis and problem resolution.

Familiarity with current automotive standard and OSHA regulations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.

Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint. Some Access experience preferred.
