Altria Compounds LLC's role is to responsibly manufacture blended flavors and provide flavor materials for its customers in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Manufacturing Engineer
to join Altria Compounds LLC in Richmond, VA.
The successful candidate will provide manufacturing engineering and maintenance support to our Flavor Facility in Richmond, VA. Specific accountabilities include: Project Management
Business case evaluation and feasibility analysis
Scope, schedule and budget development
Capital appropriation funding requests
Direct and lead external engineering and consulting resources
Manage internal and external project and construction resources
Analysis and evaluation of existing equipment base to identify and address obsolescence / end of useful life
Risk analysis and contingency planning to support business continuity efforts
Equipment and capacity
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives
Identify and implement process optimization initiatives
Implement production and maintenance generated improvements
Provide Manufacturing and Maintenance support and be expected to troubleshoot problems that arise and provide solutions
Evaluate new technology to support project initiatives
Ensure compliance with FDA, Safety, Sanitation, Environmental and Code requirements
Collaborate with Production, Unionized workforce, Maintenance, Project Teams and Equipment Vendors
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Minimum of five years of experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
In-depth technical scientific/engineering knowledge and general business acumen
Knowledge of general engineering and construction practices
Experience with tobacco processing and manufacturing is desired
Knowledge of FDA requirements relative to manufacturing is desired
Analytical and interpersonal skills
