BRIEF JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls to achieve production goals of the organization and implement continuous improvement methods to support operational machine reliability. RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIRED SKILLS:Program complex controls systems.Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve processes or reduce costs using knowledge of machine controls, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.Prepare documentation and procedures for new manufacturing processes.Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.Manage projects related to improvements and new manufacturing processes.Design layout of equipment or work spaces to achieve maximum efficiency.Prepare reports summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance.Troubleshoot control systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.Disassemble and reassemble production equipment to make repairs such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.
