Job Description:

JOB Summary: The primary responsibility will be project managing new product launches from R&D into Manufacturing. The scope of this work will include the design and development of assembly and filling equipment for the commercialization of new products. The engineer must possess in-depth understanding of assembly equipment as it applies to lean manufacturing principles. This person must be able to coordinate project activities and develop work assignments for self and others. Responsibilities also include supporting existing assembly equipment, as required. essentIaL duties and responsibilitIes: Develop project plans and manage; including detailed timelines and resource requirements Design equipment, tooling, and workcells for assembly Manage external vendors Lead cross functional project teams. Work with management to develop equipment improvement opportunities; provide actionable suggestions to potential cost-saving or quality enhancing projects. Create and submit purchase requisitions for project material requirements. Perform troubleshooting and repair of existing assembly equipment. education/experience/minimum requiremenTs: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Certification/License: Demonstrated training in (DOE) design of experiment and (FMEA) Failure Mode Effects Analysis (preferred) Demonstrated training in lean manufacturing practices (strongly preferred) Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred) Experience: 3 years experience working in a lean manufacturing environment designing, building, and improving assembly equipment and work cells. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Familiar with designing and building robust assembly equipment and work cells.Capability to generate detailed and dimensioned drawings in AutoCAD, or similar design application.Excellent communication skills; must interface seamlessly with other departments, including Assembly, Engineering, Tool Room, and Formulary R&D.Trouble shooting / failure analysisAbility to create standard training and instructional documents and machine/ maintenance manualsKnowledge of OSHA compliance OR Any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
