ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Manage staff, prepare work schedules and assign specific duties to meet organizational needs. - Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition of maintenance shop to ensure the work environment is clean and safe, and the shop is adequately stocked to meet needs. - Monitor maintenance activity to identify opportunities for cost reduction and maintenance program improvement. - Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare reports of findings. - Works closely with the Station Manager to ensure all company practices, standards, and budgetary targets are met. - Monitors employees' actual hours versus budgeted production hours. - Assists in the hiring and training of personnel and the coordination of new hire paperwork. - Conduct performance evaluations on team members. - Ensures employees are complying with the company's uniform policy and dress code. - Monitors attendance and works with HR on infractions and record keeping. - Handles disciplinary matters in coordination with HR and Management. - Develop, implement or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures. - Evaluate processes and facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. - Monitor certifications of team to ensure all team members remain currently certified on the equipment they use and repair. - Inspect equipment or parts to identify the cause of errors, failures, or other problems and make recommendations for process changes, purchases, repairs, etc. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - General supervision of a department involving responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and personnel. May have subordinate supervisors. Supervises 2-50 employees. Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring of employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: * Quickbooks Accounting software * ADP Payroll and Enhanced Time and Attendance systems * MS Outlook Communication Management software * MS Excel Spreadsheet software * MS Word Word Processing software * Internet Usage and PC and/or MAC and Windows Usage experience CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS - Valid State Driver's License - Mechanic certification
